#1 – What has this world come to when we use the Pope as a means for personal, financial gain?

First, people were betting on who was going to win the Pope race :o)

Then, I just heard about a guy who bought the domain names for the top 5 Pope names he thought Pope John Paul II’s successor might select. That way, they would have to pay HIM if they want a website in their own name. And, one of the 5 he picked: popebenedictXVI.com. The current bidding price on eBay?… $16,100.00 from 103 bids!

Rogers Cadenhead, the owner of the benedictxvi.com website, as featured on KNTV of the NBC Network on Thursday April 21, 2005 at 7:00 a.m. PDT

Ahhh, but here’s another guy who bought the domain name benedictxvi.com for a whole different reason.

And In Other News…

#2 – According to my friends, Bob & Tom, there were 1.73 F-words PER MINUTE in a single episode of the HBO television show “Deadwood“. And this guy shows us the tally for Deadwood’s season two. Oh, but now there’s an entire WEBSITE that tallies the number of times the “F” word is used in the series Deadwood!

I’ve never seen the show, but I’ve heard from a bunch of people who have…

Here’s what others are saying about “Deadwood”, and here’s what a cast member says about it. By gosh, there’s even an entire forum devoted solely to it!

Back to my “friends”… Here are some great video clips from previous Bob & Tom shows.

#3 – Penn Station is having a contest to find “The #1 Reason To Go To Penn Station”. Of course, I’m a member of their elite “e-club” (!), so I was eligible to vote. (If my answer is chosen as The #1 Reason to Go to Penn Station, then I win a mini-iPod!)

Here’s what I wrote:

“There is NO other place in Nashville where you can get a fresher, meatier, cheesier ORIGINAL Philly Cheesesteak sandwich that’s loaded to the gills and served on fresh-baked bread that’s got just the right amount of “toasted crispiness” while being slightly doughy like fresh bread ought to be — all at the same time!”

…make ya hungry?

Me too. I’ll see ya at Penn Station!
