Meet Jim & Lynnette And The Other Writers
A unique perspective on each of the people behind this web site: Jim and Lynnette.
For those who told us "No" or said we'd never be able to do it... Proof that whatever you set your mind to, you can do!
From Indiana to Florida... Texas to Tennessee... New York to North Carolina... Ohio... and back to Tennessee again... Here's a little about the places we have called home.
How We Met & Our Unique Wedding
It all happened so fast!... Here are the details of our whirlwind courtship and barefoot-on-the-beach wedding in the Bahamas. Let the good times roll!
There's so much to say about our dogs that we created an entire website called The Fun Times Guide To Dogs. It includes all the fun(ny) stories and pictures of our pets: Destin, a Black Lab/Golden Retriever mix; Tenor, a Black Lab/Great Pyrenees mix; and Jersey, an American Eskimo dog who recently passed on after 15 great years with us. Plus, the site is loaded with tips for dog owners! And, of course, there's plenty of pet humor mixed in.
Want more? We Twitter about all the things that we think are cool but we probably won't have time to write about. Here's what we're Twittering right now:
And we StumbleUpon a number of great websites from time to time. This will give you an idea of our favorite websites and some of the articles that we think are really interesting. Here are the websites we like: ![]()
And if that's not enough... then start reading! You're bound to learn a lot about us and the things that motivate us on a daily basis after browsing through some of the articles here at The Fun Times Guide.
... Enjoy!
Wanna see some pictures?... Check out our personal photo album. It's filled with fun pictures from the homefront, and highlights from our many travels. Plus, photos of some famous (and not so famous) people that we've crossed paths with.

I stumbled on your very cool website when I was searching for info about dogs and wild life! Enjoying the articles and humor:) We're aware of thecoyote, fox, cougar, and bear around here!
Also, I thought you might want to know about something I found that is really neat for kids who love dogs. A very clever little book that our young ones just love. They can't learn too much about dogs!
It's called "Hap the Pup: a Dog'z Guide 4 Kidz ACTIVITY BOOK" by Suzanne Pierson. Comes with a free CD and Coloring book, too - very reasonable. Just thought you should know as I haven't seen it in your listings.
Hi Tom -
If you're referring to any of the photos in this article about The Great Northern Door Company, those photos are straight from their brochure. I would contact them directly for more info. They're great guys!
Thanks so much for all the shared info. I only wish I could have found this before we moved into our "new" home. Better late than never though!
Hi. Thanks for your website. It is giving my wife and I many ideas for the planning of our new home. I found a picture of a garage that I really liked. Lynette posted it in an article written in Feb. '07. Can you tell me where you found that picture? I would like to try to get plans for it. Thanks. Tom & Bonnie in NY.
I love my adventure in my Airstream and wanted to share something I bought through a friend that has brought me and the photographer in me much joy! I have a great tech set-up for travel, photography and the ability to enjoy all of those memories. Just recently a friend sent me to a website to buy this new frame system. She thought I would love it since I could mount it on the wall with velcro instead of a hazardous nail (can you imagine) Well I now own several of these front loading frames that velcro to my rig and it is now more of a home sweet home and I keep the memories rolling as each stores up to 12 photos. anyways...thought you may want to share about something that makes the travels even sweeter...oh yeah...I bought them from at brilliantframe.com. I had a code but not sure if it still works for a discount. i tyoed in brilliant friend. Maybe it will still work. Check it out anyways. A great thing for us roadies!
I came across your site in searching for information about what kind of hardwood floors best withstand scratches from dogs' nails. What kind of floor did you end up selecting for your new home and how do you like it? Thank you. Terisia

Dear Lynette and Jim.
We sure enjoy your website here at Barking Planet Productions and we enjoyed reading your profiles. We are going to post our impressions and thoughts in the Dogster Forum pages...more dog lovers should visit your site.
All best wishes,
Bob
Just tripped onto your page. Very nice. We moved back to Nashville in the Fall of 2007. We live over in Maury County, a little in the country. I have enjoyed reading all your little articles on artists, songwriting, Franklin, etc. Very cool site...I'll be back to read more.
I just wanted to say thank you for creating this site. I was looking for the real men of genious commercials and you've provided a great list. I've been laughing for hours!! Thank you!
I stumbled upon your page after googling about black golden retrievers - I know it's a silly question but I did that to find some pictures to see the similarities of my dog, Bella. When I first got her when she was barely 4 weeks old, I was told that she was a black Labrador and German Shepherd and now she is 7 months old, I'm starting to question her breed...there is no GS in her. She does look like a Lab, only that her hair's long and she's got dainty legs/long body for a Lab/GS mix. I've been told that she is probably a Lab/Border Collie mix but I'm not too sure. That's when I stumbled onto your page and found pictures of Destin and there is a huge resemblance between Destin and Bella... Same face, black spots on tongue, long wavy black hair - the only difference is that your Destin is bigger than Bella. If you like to see some pictures of Bella, let me know!
I love your page, by the way - lots of interesting tips in the dog section (especially about the black spots on the tongue)
How funny!
I trust that you landed on one of these articles:

...then found out we live in Franklin, TN -- near Nashville.
Well, to answer your question, I don't know of any Nashville Euchre groups. But that's only because I haven't really looked around.
I would think there would be some. I seem to recall seeing some in a printed newspaper-like tabloid like the Nashville Scene or something one time. It was in the "local clubs & groups" section. Not exactly sure which paper it was though.
Next time you're in town, feel free to email us. We'll play some Euchre with ya!...
I took a chance and googled "Euchre Nashville" and stumbled in here. My husband and I are "sort of" moving to Nashville (commuter/weekend couple). We love to play cards...we like euchre a lot. Do you know of any card playing groups?
I love your place here and the Award Winning Tennessee Bloggers! I am in Tennessee too-Tullahoma. Woohoo!
