St. Patrick's Day Crafts & Fun Stuff For Adults And Kids

make-green-shaving-cream-by-jek-in-the-box.jpg Do you enjoy celebrating St. Patrick's Day?

I do. And yes, I'm of Irish ancestry.

But you don't have to be Irish to celebrate the day of the Patron Saint of Ireland. You probably should believe in leprechauns, but that isn't necessary either.

The only requirement to celebrate St. Patrick's Day is to enjoy having fun!

For starters, try making green shaving cream arts & crafts.

Following are more fun St. Patrick's Day Crafts to consider...

Eric Hutchinson Photos From 3rd & Lindsley In Nashville

eric-hutchinson-at-keyboard.jpg Eric Hutchinson has a hit song on all the music video channels right now ("Rock & Roll").

That song got my attention the first time I heard it, so I was excited to hear that he would be making a stop in Nashville.

Before I bought the tickets for his Nashville gig, I didn't really know much about Eric Hutchinson. I just knew the song and the fact that he writes most of his own songs. (I like that.)

eric-hutchinson-3rd-and-lindsley-nashville.jpgLast night was the big night. He played at 3rd & Lindsley, a place that seats less than 300 (which, if you ask me, is the best way to see musicians: up close & personal).

Usually, we sit in the very front row near the stage at 3rd & Lindsley. This was the first  we didn't, because when we got there (an hour and a half before the start time!), the place was already full! About 30 minutes before the show, they had to stop letting people in -- there simply was no more room.

Here are my photos and thoughts about Eric Hutchinson's show in Nashville...

Best iPhone Apps For iPhone & iTouch Newbies

iphone-apps.jpg I've had an iPhone for 4 months now. Before that, I had the standard no-frills Motorola Razr phone.

During these first 4 months, I've spent a good deal of time researching just about every single iPhone app I could possibly need (or want). And now I feel confident that I have tweaked all my settings and narrowed down my installed apps to only the ones that I use on a regular basis.

As a result, the iPhone is doing a great job at keeping my life sufficiently organized, and my productivity has increased. Things that I do online from my computer, and things that I do on-the-go from my cellphone are perfectly in sync now, thanks to some pretty cool iPhone apps.

I thought I'd take a few minutes to share with other iPhone (and iTouch) newbies which apps were must-haves for me, plus some fun ways you can organize your life and enhance your productivity with the iPhone.

In case you're wondering, you're allowed to use a maximum of 9 screens on the iPhone. Each screen holds 16 apps/icons. Plus, there are 4 apps that you can "dock" to appear on every screen, no matter where you are in the iPhone. So that's a total of 148 total icons/apps you can have on the iPhone itself. When you subtract Apple's standard 19 icons/apps that you cannot delete even if you wanted to, that's a total of 129 apps (or webclips) that you can download and store on your iPhone at any given time. I have 60 total apps/icons on my iPhone right now.

Everything You Want To Know About The Leprechaun

serious-leprechaun-by-IGNACIOLEO.jpg Leprechauns live only in Ireland, which is also known as The Emerald Isle.

It is said that Leprechauns are a type of male fairy and are a class of fairy folk that live near Fairy Rings, which are ancient Celtic earthworks or drulins.

The word Leprechaun is Gaelic for shoemaker, which makes sense because the occupation of a Leprechaun is a shoemaker to the fairies.

According to Irish mythology, Leprechauns were once mighty warriors. An evil magician and his army conquered Ireland in a battle and banished these mighty warriors to live underground. Years later, the warriors emerged from the depths of the Earth as Leprechauns.

Here's everything you could possibly want to know about Leprechauns...

Before You Go To Aruba... Lessons Learned From Our Vacation In Aruba

riu-palace-hotel-resort-aruba.jpg In November, we were fortunate to be in Aruba on vacation. It was an all-inclusive trip with one price including:

  • Airfare

  • Ground transportation to and from the airport in Aruba

  • 7 days and 6 nights at the RIU Palace (pronounced Rio), an all-inclusive resort that's located on the beach (Palm Beach) at the far north (or west) end of the island

  • All beverages (including alcohol of every size, shape and flavor -- even a fully stocked bar and refrigerator in the room)

  • All food (round the clock, available at restaurants, buffets, and 24-hr room service with full menus and desserts)

  • Complimentary sun loungers in the pool and parasols on the beach (yeah, kinda trivial... but the experience of drinking while lounging in the pool or at the built-in pool bar were so cool!

Here's a review of the RIU Palace hotel & resort.

We went with our friends, Terry and Rhonda.

Rainbow Roses Are Extra Special Flowers For The Extra Special People In Your Life

rainbow-roses-for-sale-by-McSushi.jpg Rainbow roses are exactly what they sound like... roses in the colors of a rainbow.  They look like a box of crayons had babies with a bunch of roses. They were designed by Peter Van de Werken, who owns a flower company close to Den Bosch in southern Holland.

Rainbow roses are real roses, but they can't be purchased as a rose bush.  They are only available as cut or dried flowers.

These special roses are made by inserting dye into the stem of the roses while they are growing, which results in the color being absorbed by the petals of the flower. They are not easy to make, as they take a bit of careful engineering.
