I saw an interesting report on CNN the other day. Dr. Sanjay Gupta was talking about G force.
G force has always been interesting to me -- ever since Jim told me that our favorite IHRA driver, Terry McMillen, reaches between 3 and 3-1/2 G's behind the wheel of his Top Fuel drag racing car each time.
But I've never really understood how G-forces worked and how many G's did what to your body.
So here's what I've recently learned...
Okay, so here it is, January 13th... and no, I'm not chastising homeowners who still have their Christmas decorations up (...and lit every night!).
This year I turn my attentions toward national advertisers...
I mean, the holidays are past, so why in the world are there still so many commercials on TV still discussing the holidays?
Case in point: Pepto-Pismol!
I've never seen (or heard) Eric O'Shea perform before.
Turns out, he's a really funny comedian.
Check out this video, for example...
Surely, you remember last year's superbowl video contest, hosted by Doritos. People were encouraged to submit videos with the hopes of landing a Doritos commercial to air on National TV.
This was the winner:
This year, they're looking for an undiscovered music artist to perform a great song for a Doritos commercial.
Maybe I'm not so crazy after all for thinking dancers like the ones in the Jello commercials are cool... and talented!
Truth is, I was almost positive that the Jello dancers had moved on over to a new ad campaign by Hanes. Because I keep catching bits & pieces of this commercial (click "Womens ComfortSoft"). And I see some very similar movements in there.
You agree, right?
The fun part:
Watch the video below which features a group of basketball players -- some in white and some in black -- passing two basketballs back & forth.
The challenge:
Count how many times the ball is passed by players wearing white shirts.
Okay, so in the car this afternoon, I'm telling Jim about the hot & steamy kissing commercial I can't get out of my head.
I call it "commercial porn" ...though it's really far from it. It's just that every time it comes on, I can't seem to take my eyes off the television screen for some reason. I guess all the "lip sucking" makes you wonder what's going to happen next!
So I get home, hop on the Internet, and see if I can find the Rembrandt commercial online -- I was eager to show it to Jim for the first time.
Here it is...
It's just not right that the following major companies can get away with this type of advertising!
I'm sure I'll be adding to the list as time goes on.
If you can think of others, please do share...
Since some people have been talking about it - we thought that we would take a shot at blogging the Super Bowl Commercials. We'll attempt everything past the opening kickoff.....up until halftime... here we go!
Remember all the hype surrounding Black Friday sales this year?... How someone let the cat out of the bag, and word got out about about those day-after-Thanksgiving sales before the stores even printed their sales fliers?
Now, here are some websites who claim to have "the inside scoop" about the 2006 Super Bowl Commercials:
And these guys are planning to make all of this year's Superbowl commercials available in as close to real-time as possible... AND in podcast format!
UPDATE: We blogged the 2006 Super Bowl commercials in real-time, too!
