In the world of online gaming there are a wide variety of quality levels for gamers. Most 'free' online games seem to be developed by kids with entry level skills that leave a lot to be desired. Most just aren't that challenging, nor do they match the graphics of the top tier games like XBox 360, PlayStation3 or Nintendo's Wii.
That is until the San Francisco based Wolf Golf Tour came along. World Golf Tour offers the most realistic online golfing experience that novices (like me) and former club pros (like my buddy Mike) can appreciate.
Couple that with some social networking modules and you have an online game that is sure to keep your attention for a very long time.
According to a couple of online typing tests I tried, I type in the 100 words per minute range. (That's with no errors.)
When I used to work in administrative jobs, my typing speed was "really good" (according to my employers). I went from 60 wpm to 80 wpm in no time from all the time spent at the computer. Now, after all these years of being self-employed as a full-time writer and editor, I'm at 100 wpm.
That's pretty good, but still not great. If you try out your own typing speed at the following online typing sites, you'll see that the fastest typists tend to type in the 120-150 range.
Try 'em out... they're FUN!
Oh my goodness...
This online game looks like so much fun, but I'm having a hard time getting past Level 1!
Jim is addicted to this game.
Any time I walk past his office and he happens to be taking a break from work, he's playing Pacman!

Here's another fun online game. But this one has a purpose: To help end world hunger.
FreeRice has a custom database containing thousands of words at varying degrees of difficulty ... FreeRice automatically adjusts to your level of vocabulary. It starts by giving you words at different levels of difficulty and then, based on how you do, assigns you an approximate starting level. You then determine a more exact level for yourself as you play. When you get a word wrong, you go to an easier level. When you get three words in a row right, you go to a harder level. This one-to-three ratio is best for keeping you at the 'outer fringe' of your vocabulary, where learning can take place."
There are 50 different levels, but it's supposedly quite rare for anyone to make it past level 48.

Happy Halloween everyone!

I learned about this one from Kim Komando. (By the way, her e-newsletters are great. She's got 4 different ones sent out each day and they're all jam-packed with fun computer-related stuff!)
Help to create a masterpiece...
All you have to do is grab some tools (online), pick some colors (from the palette), and let the magic begin!

You've seen the game played on national television.
It's addictive... and often funny to watch.
Now you can play the game yourself online!
