Big 'Ol SUVs... Some Facts & Figures

| Comments (2)

Love SUVs? Me too.

a-big-chevy-suv-driver-who-cant-park.jpgBut things like energy-efficiency, global warming, and rising gas prices are starting to make me think twice when it comes to motoring around town in an SUV.

We drive a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, so it's not one of those gigantic SUVs or anything. Still... it's not the best on gas mileage. And there are certainly pro's and con's to choosing a Jeep Wrangler, as with any other vehicle on the market these days.

Nevertheless, it's hard to deny the fun-factor that comes with driving a Jeep!

For those trying to make an informed choice when it comes to SUVs, here are some interesting facts & figures about SUVs...

Our Inventions... However Crazy As They May Be

| Comments (0)

Thought I'd use a silly picture & us snorkeling in the Bahamas seemed good for this blistery cold December 1st day! I'm sure you've been in the same boat we are...

Where you find yourself constantly thinking up "brilliant" ideas. So brilliant, in fact, that the people your share your great idea with encourage you to patent it.

In mine & Jim's world...it seems like this happens all the time.

Oh sure, lots of our ideas are dumb. Or they've already been patented by someone else & we just don't know it yet (...like the date-back camera, or popcorn dental floss, or a Music City Walk of Fame). Or they might only seem appealing to a small group of people.

Nevertheless, here are some of the things that we wish someone would invent soon. Because they sure would make our lives easier!

Have a look...

First Things First... A Funny Look At Our First Attempts At Everything Under The Sun

| Comments (1)

Just for laughs...

Today I came across an old video that Jim and I did -- and it made me laugh. We just looked so stupid.

Actually it was the very first video we ever created (with our new video camera), and it was simply a trial & error thing, but for some reason, we felt compelled to post it.

At the time, we were about to embark on a trip to Gatlinburg for the weekend... and we were eager to record everything with our brand new Canon digital video camera.

Trust me when you watch this (well, I don't know... maybe only our close friends will "get it"), but I think it just goes to show how valuable unedited, first attempts and first impressions are -- no matter WHAT the topic!

It's fast.

It's free.

It's easy to do yourself online!

Maybe you can't get your picture on the cover of the Rolling Stone... but you can put your picture on any other magazine you wish!

DILO: A Day In The Life Of...

| Comments (0)

One of the FUN things I do with photos on Flickr is participate in the "Day In The Life Of" (DILO) project.

Every month or so, they ask for personal submissions -- 5 photographs which summarize how you spent your day.

The most recent one was this past Tuesday, June 21st.

This is what I was doing...

We Work For The New York Times Now!

| Comments (0)

Jim photographing Fort Pickens for an article we were doing when we ran the Pensacola.about.com website. Today, we do the 4wheeldrive.about.com website. As most of you know, we do a website for About.com called 4wheeldrive.about.com. It's a 4-wheeling site for people who own four-wheel drive vehicles or ATVs and enjoy driving them off-road.

(...Yes, we own a four-wheel drive vehicle, and yes, we enjoy taking it off-road.)

Well, the big news in our world is the fact that we've just been bought by the New York Times! Whooo hooo!
