We went to the Wildhorse Saloon last night for the taping of a reality TV series called Gone Country. The show will premiere on CMT on January 25, 2008.
These are the celebrities who are taking part in the show and the ones who performed the songs they co-wrote last night at the Wildhorse Saloon:
- Bobby Brown (New Edition)
- Carnie Wilson (Wilson Phillips)
- Dee Snider (Twisted Sister)
- Diana DeGarmo (American Idol)
- Julio Iglesias Jr. (son of Julio Iglesias)
- Maureen McCormick (The Brady Bunch)
- Sisqo ("The Thong Song")
Sometimes we go watch Nashville Star as it's being filmed for TV here in Nashville.
Beyond, that I only seem to catch bits & pieces of Nashville Star on TV each year. As a result, I usually don't remember anyone but the final few contestants.
Such was the case this past season. So I was pleasantly surprised to find 2 former Nashville Star contestants at the Bluebird the other night. Plus, two other up & comers in the music industry.
We met some friends (who were visiting from California) there. Here's how the night went...
To give you a better idea of what I was talking about here, I went to Pinkerton Park (aka "Sign Park") here in Franklin to photograph the evidence.
To my delight, I noticed that they have removed the "Absolutely No Ball Throwing" sign, and a few other similar (non-fun) signs.
But I was still amazed by the sheer number of signs you're faced with the moment you step foot in this lovely city park.
How many signs can you spot in this one photo?
We went to see Scott Holt perform at BB Kings in Nashville last night.
AWESOME show!
(...Thanks, Dale.)
Following are some photos from our front row seats...
This night was also special because Scott introduced a lot of his former guitar techs and invited them on stage to play a song or two with him. Plus, a handful of other musicians (and a few up & comers) got their 15 minutes of fame last night when they were invited to join Scott Holt onstage.

During lunch the other day, I decided to park at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Jefferson, downtown Nashville. My goal was to enjoy my egg salad sandwich and can of Diet Dr. Pepper, while watching the traffic go by.
What fun is that, you ask???
Well, check this out!...
Found this while surfing the Net the other day...
It's a quick way to summarize the states in which you've lived and those that you have visited at some point in the past.
First, have a listen to Bud Light's Real Men of Genius "Mr. Way Too Proud of Texas Guy":
Here's where I've lived, and where I've been...
