101 Fun Things To Do Before You Die

101-things-to-do-before-you-die.jpg It seems like each year around Christmas, I spend a good deal of time in bookstores.

Books and other fun things found in bookstores just seem to make the best gifts...

One item that I found to be a "fun read" was the book 101 Things To Do Before You're Old and Boring by Richard Horne and Helen Szirtes.

Here are some of the things they say you just have to try before you're old & gray...

Fun Contest: Share Your Worst New Year's Eve Story

Laura and the rest of the gang over at Hellish Holidays (you know, the ones who gave us all the great tips for planning an Ugly Sweater Party) are running a fun contest in honor of the New Year.

They are seeking people's worst New Year's Eve memories. The prize is a camcorder from Pure Video.

Happy New Year... What's YOUR New Year's Resolution?

| Comments (0)

Here are some personal resolutions that you might find interesting.

Hopefully, they'll inspire you to come up with a few creative and meaningful New Years Resolutions for yourself...

MY New Year's Resolutions This Year:

1. Backup all my digital photos (& other important stuff on my computer) regularlythis year! I vow to do it MONTHLY, regardless of how much or how little I think there is to back up. I've actually scheduled this in my Yahoo Calendar, so I get an e-mail reminder each month.

On a related note, check out Bill Gates' New Year's Resolutions for 2005!

2. Streamline my online activities to include regularly checking my favorite websites each and every day.

Merry New Year! (A Frugal Person's Proposal For The Celebration Of Christmas)

| Comments (2)

Bear with me here... but I have a novel idea. (IF I do say so myself!)

With all the hub-bub about Christmas Trees vs Sunday services on Christmas day, and all the other "politically correct" ways that people have tried to un-Christmas the holiday this year... I've got an idea!

What's say we keep Christmas for the Christians... bring the focus back to Christ and the REAL meaning of Christmas... and continue to celebrate Christmas Day on December 25th each year -- with this one catch: NO PRESENTS!

That way, Christmas will be what it was always intended to be: a celebration of Christ's birth in its purest form (...for those who believe it, that is).

THEN..... (hold, on... it gets better!)

Each and every year I actually do come up with at least one New Year's Resolution, and I consciously attempt to stick to it throughout the year.

It's kind of interesting to see where my priorities have been these past few years:
