Chip Challenge Game: The Horseshoes Of Golf

| Comments (0)

chip-challenge-horseshoes-of-golf.jpgWe're always looking for new backyard games to try out. For the first time this weekend, I played this new backyard game called Chip Challenge. It was fun!

They refer to it as 'the horseshoes of golf'... and I guess it is, to an extent. It's soooooo simple. Yet fairly challenging at the same time.

And the best part: It's never the same game twice!

Fun Ways To Learn The Basics Of Football... Fast!

| Comments (0)

football2.jpgNot a fan of football? As much as I hate to admit it, that's me.

And as hard as people have tried through the years to convince me that watching football (in person or on TV) is a fun thing to do, I just don't buy it.

I've tried front & center in the stands. I've been up close & personal on the field. I've enjoyed the luxury of skyboxes. I've had tickets to some of the biggest games that should have meant something to me. But for some reason, I tend to gravitate toward the fun party games and football party recipes instead of the actual game itself.

Poor Jim, he had no idea what he was marrying into (8 years ago). Unfortunately, I think he pays the price for his non-football loving wife being in charge of the TV remote control, too. That's probably why he's usually in the running for "the last place award" in the football pool each year. (Trust me, there's a much worse name than that for such a prestigious award!)

Anyhoo, at least I have attempted to learn more about the game of football.

Here are some of the best links I've found for the non-football fans who want to learn the basics of football... fast!

2008 Doritos Superbowl Contest

| Comments (1)

Surely, you remember last year's superbowl video contest, hosted by Doritos. People were encouraged to submit videos with the hopes of landing a Doritos commercial to air on National TV.

This was the winner:

This year, they're looking for an undiscovered music artist to perform a great song for a Doritos commercial.

reflection-through-race-car.jpgThis is for Jim.
(...who we all know works very hard at those IHRA drag racing events).

I'm also doing this because the radio station this hottie works for (101 WRIF in Detroit) has requested these photos. And hey, they're really good photos. Jim shot these at the IHRA race in Milan, Michigan in August.

So I'm sharing... for all to enjoy!

Cool & Unusual Things Seen At IHRA Drag Racing Events

| Comments (4)

jim-taking-pictures-at-races2.jpg Because we were able to schedule a "vacation" immediately following the races, I agreed to go to Jim's IHRA event in Grand Bend, Ontario Canada last week.

I'm so out of the racing loop it isn't even funny...

I spent most of my time taking pictures of things I found interesting and working on my computer. (Yep, it's hard to stay away, even when on vacation... we didn't have Internet though.)

Maybe Drag Racing Isn't So Bad After All...

ihra-drag-racing-crowd-shot-mirrored-reflection.jpgJim has started his annual summer trek across the country racetrack to racetrack from Raleigh, North Carolina to Tulsa, Oklahoma and everywhere in between. Yep, he's home a week or so, then gone a week or so. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

If I enjoyed racing more, I'd probably go along with him. There's just so much down-time spent sitting around the track, and I'd usually rather be doing something... anything!

Anyhoo... when Jim got back from Dallas last week (he got side-tracked with a business meeting somewhere between here and Tulsa), I assumed my "wife of a race car fanatic" role by downloading and then uploading all of his best photos on the websites of the following dragracing drivers:

...and what do I find?

Weird, Strange & Embarrassing Sports Injuries

| Comments (0)

bobby-knight-throwing-chair.jpg I woke up around 4AM yesterday morning and channel-surfed over to CNN Headline News. At which point I caught the tail-end report of a guy running through a list of "Amazing Sports Injuries".

They all applied to professional sports players from the NFL, Major League Baseball, NHL, NBA, and so on.

In an attempt to share this very funny list with you here, I did a Google search, but failed to find the list he had mentioned.

I did manage to find a ton of hilarious sports injuries from other lists, though!

Check 'em out...
