We kicked off Spring Training this year with the opening day game at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter Florida: St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets.

Everyone in attendance was hoping to see Garth Brooks in a Mets uniform!

You see, the Mets allowed Country singer, Garth Brooks to sign a minor league contract and train with the team during Spring Training this year. He finished with a 0-17 batting record. The year before, Garth trained with the San Diego Padres. He finished with a 1-22 batting record.

We also enjoyed seeing homerun hitter, Mark McGwire, playing on this day.
