2008 Doritos Superbowl Contest

| Comments (1)

Surely, you remember last year's superbowl video contest, hosted by Doritos. People were encouraged to submit videos with the hopes of landing a Doritos commercial to air on National TV.

This was the winner:

This year, they're looking for an undiscovered music artist to perform a great song for a Doritos commercial.

How To Make A Cupcake Pincushion... It's Too Too Cute!

Cupcake pin cushion. The first time I saw this CUPCAKE PINCUSHION in print was in a Good Housekeeping magazine.

Then I saw it again online at the Cupcake Queen's site.

She writes: "I do not crochet or knit...but, I do know a cupcake when I see one!"

I don't knit, crochet, or sew either, but I think this would be a FUN way to store safety pins and needles.

Chili's promo for donation to St. Judes Hospital. This Monday (September 26th), make plans to eat at a Chili's restaurant near you...

Why?

Because Chili's is donating 100% of their profits from the day's sales to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital!

Chili's website announcing their donation of the day's profits to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.

How cool is that?!

Maybe it's just "one of those days"... or, maybe you've had too much to drink.

Here's how to know for sure and how to remedy the situation:

Party On The Porch!

Our friend, Mike, was in town last weekend, and we had a big time.

Mike drinking strawberry daiquiris on the front porch. One of the highlights was our little "Party on the Porch" which consisted of Jim and Mike strumming their guitars and singing songs while sitting on the rocking chairs on our front porch.

Two guitars on rocking chairs on the front porch.

'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' Was Too Hot To Handle... So Was The Thai Food We Ate Before The Movie

| Comments (0)

Mr. and Mrs. Smith movie starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. We hadn't intended on seeing this movie... but Mike W. was in town, and he had heard it was funny, so we all went.

It was cute, and funny in parts. But quite honestly, I couldn't get past staring at Angelina Jolie's big lips!

Combine that with a plot in Mr. and Mrs. Smith that didn't really go anywhere... and you're left with a feeling of disappointment. Even though the lead characters themselves were pretty hot... they seemed to be having more fun MAKING the movie than any of the moviegoers in our theater did SEEING the movie.

Let me just say for the record, I am aware of the fact that those are in fact her "real" lips. I saw a photo of her at age 4 or 5 and her lips were just as large then!

Here's our complete review of this and other movies we've seen recently.

Budweiser's NEW Marketing Ideas

| Comments (3)

According to August Busch IV, president of Anheuser-Busch, Budweiser has some interesting new marketing priorities. He writes:

First, while beer is America's favorite beverage with 58 percent of overall alcohol servings, we must continue to improve the image and desirability of beer. Second, we must keep beer fun and social. Third, we must grow beer occasions. And fourth, we must continue to improve our retail execution."

...sounds good to me.

I'd like to party with this guy!
