101 Fun Things To Do Before You Die

101-things-to-do-before-you-die.jpg It seems like each year around Christmas, I spend a good deal of time in bookstores.

Books and other fun things found in bookstores just seem to make the best gifts...

One item that I found to be a "fun read" was the book 101 Things To Do Before You're Old and Boring by Richard Horne and Helen Szirtes.

Here are some of the things they say you just have to try before you're old & gray...

What makes this book unique is the fact that there are checklists included and ways for you to personalize and document the steps you go through to make each one of the 101 things happen.

...Fun, fun, FUN!

My Favorites... 15 FUN Things To Do

From the book 101 Things To Do Before You're Old And Boring:

Send a message in a bottle -- Someone might actually find it... it could happen.

Prepare yourself for fame -- There's no time like the present... you never know! (This might help.)

Paint a picture good enough to hang on the wall -- Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... Think: conversation piece!

Win something -- I did it, so can you. But that means you've gotta enter things.

Start a collection -- Anything. Even if it's only meaningful to you. Then, display it proudly, and add to it regularly.

Help save the planet -- Live with purpose.

Start your own blog -- There's no better way to share your thoughts & ideas with people all across the world. Market yourself... or your ideas known to others.

Do something charitable -- To which I would add: "every year". (Or, if you had the right mindset, you could strive to make someone else's life better every day!... think small.)

Invent a new trend -- Start something fun and watch it catch on. But you have to be proud of your trendy new idea or style, no matter how unusual it may seem - at first.

Learn to live without something you love for a week -- a whole week.

Make your own greeting cards -- No Hallmark card can reflect you, your style, and your heartfelt words as well as you can.

Hold a yard sale -- and make it count. If you're serious about it, you can make a lot of money and have fun at the same time!

Write a story and get it published -- even if it is in the form of a Blog.

Learn to take great photos -- Not much to "learn" here in my opinion, because quantity is better than quality... just get out there and do it! Pictures capture moments in time that can never be replaced.

Decide what you want to be when you grow up -- Sounds like the makings of a New Year's Resolution to me!
