Hmm, these sure beat some of the ones I saw last year, like the chubby kids who came with glucose monitors and pretended to be pre-diabetics...

I remember the fun of Halloween was in making a costume, seeing what you or your parents could come up with every year. Everything is too comercialized these days, but then, the whole thing is basically a commercial holiday to sell lots of candy, so have at it.

And Mushy, I don't think you have anything to worry about, unless yer son wanted to go out as the Barbie Mermaid. Might be an excuse for heavy drinking, not that there's anything wrong with it.

To each his own I guess...

Most of these were selected based on things I was reading about families involving their children more with military things -- and showing more attention to professional service men & women these days. Those just seemed timely.

(Except for #1... that one kept showing up whenever I did different seaches for kids halloween costumes... Not sure what's up with that one... but I do kinda like the concept of having a "prop" as part of a costume!)

Plus there's been a lot of talk about mermaids & how they're projected to be popular with girls this year.

True, some of these may not look as cool as monsters, but they're meaningful to some.

Personally, I kinda like the Jaws one and the Sumo wrestler. But that's just me.

Maybe I'll add some Honorable Mentions... some more FUN ones. That's more our style anyway...

Thanks Mushy!

That's some of the nerdiest costumes I've ever seen! What ever happened to good old monsters?

4 & 10 aren't too bad, but my kid wanted to go out wearing #5, I'd first kick his butt then I'd have him checked out.
