Household Plants: Best Indoor Plants For Bathrooms

| Comments (0)

I've always dreamed of having an open & airy bathroom with a lot of natural light, scented candles, colorful flowers & lots of green plants.

You know... a bathroom that's warm, welcoming, and comfortable.

One thing that really helps to soften the "hard-edges" in a bathroom and remove that boring, sterile feeling is to add something organic.

...We're talking about plants.

"Whether you turn your bathroom into a faux-jungle or simply display a single stem, the addition of plants and flowers will add a softer note -- a breath of life."

Plants that would thrive in most bathrooms:

  • Spider plants
  • Calla Lily
  • Chrysanthemum
  • Gerbera Daisy
  • Areca Palm

In warm & humid bathrooms:

  • Bamboo
  • Banana plants

In limited natural light:

  • Ferns
  • Ivy
  • Ficus
  • Philodendron
  • Cactus
  • Bonsai trees

Colorful flowers for bathrooms:

  • Begonias (great in a hanging basket over the tub)
  • Orchids (perfect on a shelf or windowsill)
  • Cut flowers (placed in several small vases)

    • "Spider plants, bamboo, philodendrons, and ivy not only are decorative but also remove pollutants from the air and replace them with oxygen. The calla lily, the humble chrysanthemum, the gerbera daisy, and the areca palm also have air-filtering properties and will help rid the bathroom of toxins."
