Scott Holt Electrifies The Crowd At BB King's In Nashville

The sign behind the bar at BB Kings in Nashville. We went to see Scott Holt perform at BB Kings in Nashville last night.

AWESOME show!
(...Thanks, Dale.)

Following are some photos from our front row seats...

Inside BB King's in Nashville, Tennessee... it resembles the Rainforest Cafe... with a kick. There are tons of colorful painting all over the walls of Country and Blues singers

We should've made reservations to guarantee a seat, but we didn't. Luckily, we scored these front row seats right before the show! This night was also special because Scott introduced a lot of his former guitar techs and invited them on stage to play a song or two with him. Plus, a handful of other musicians (and a few up & comers) got their 15 minutes of fame last night when they were invited to join Scott Holt onstage.

The Scott Holt Band

The Scott Holt Band consists of Scott Holt (vocals, guitar), Richard Sanders (bass guitar, backup vocals), and Tom Larson (drums, percussion).

The Band was formed in 1999 with guitarist Scott Holt, drummer Tom Larson (pictured here), and Leo Lyons (from the band Ten Years After).

Scott Holt's Youngest Fan
One of Scott's "trademarks" is toward the end of the show when he runs into the audience -- still wired to his electric guitar -- and invites fans to strum a chord or two on his guitar. It makes for a truly energized show, as everyone is standing and applauding and staring in disbelief to see what Scott's going to do next.

The only one who was invited up on STAGE to play, was this future guitarist, Derek. At first, he wasn't too comfortable with the whole idea, so Scott helped him hold the guitar and strum a few chords.

In no time, Derek was strumming his own tune on one of Scott's favorite guitars.

Scott Holt is one classy guy...

He frequently likes to shine the spotlight on his former guitar techs and fellow musicians -- like these.

Some great musicians...

Marshall Weaver playing the drums at BB King's in Nashville. Tyler Crouse on the stage with Scott Holt. Ryan Murphy playing guitar at BB King's in Nashville. Scott Holt and, a guy whose name I didn't catch...

Bobby Inman, Scott's former guitar tech...

Bobby Inman playing the cowbell on stage with Scott Holt at BB King's. This Bobby Inman guy has quite a reputation!... He was Scott's guitar tech back int he day when Jim and his brother used to watch Scott play at the Bungenut Pig in Franklin.. You could feel the love in the room for this guy... everyone was thrilled with Bobby Inman's, guitar playing, singing, and cowbell ringing... especially Scott.

Scott Holt's Signature Move
Scott Holt and Bobby Inman heading outside to play guitar on the sidewalks of Nashville in front of BB Kings.

In true Scott Holt fashion, after featuring a few of the fellow musicans who are in da house... Scott typically heads out the front door -- still fully wired to his guitar -- electrifying the streets of downtown Nashville with some amazing guitar riffs before returning to the stage.

Scott Holt back inside BB Kings after 'takin it to the streets'...

At this point, the entire audience inside is beside themselves with awe and excitment, and the entire audience outside clamors to get in to watch more of this incredible musician.

It's truly a great show!

Thank you to Lynnette and Jim for introducing us to Scott Holt - We hadn't heard of him before, but we now consider ourselves fans.
One of the guys that went up to play with Scott happened to me sitting next to me so of course I had to ask some questions. His name is Cody Ferris (pictured above with the Fender cap) and he's only 18. Been playing less than 5 years and he was fantastic. He's from Birmingham, AL and I found out that he spends most of his time playing in his Church band at Living Word Ministries. How cool is that? I wish I had it that "together" at that age. I'm going to keep in touch with Cody and if he finds himself playing with a band around Nashville, I'll be there.

Hi Jim & Lynette,
Thanks for the great photos and memories of our show at BB's. My wife really appreciated your photos, and we both hope to meet you sometime. We hope you can make it to the benefit this weekend in Columbia as our guests. Peace & Love, Scott & Buffy
My turn... this is Buffy, I just want to thank the two of you for supporting my great husband and his wonderful band! He is a truly special guy and to have people like you "get it" makes what he does possible! He loves to share the spotlight with his friends/new friends and that is a very rare trait in this business. You documented it perfectly here. I just hope that Derek's parents find this! They will be thrilled! I really hope to meet the two of you someday. Ya'll are awesome people... please come down for the benefit... we will have some fun! Thanks again! Buffy
