International CXT Truck Sighting: The Ultimate Big Boy Toy

| Comments (41)

Fun Times Guide roving reporter, Randy, writes...

Back in July you featured an article on Ford SuperTrucks. I checked out the links you had and found them to be interesting and also thought that a SuperTruck would seem to be the ultimate big boy toy.

Randy standing on the running boards of a brand new International CXT ...notice the watermelons growing on the dirt pile in the background!. I was on my way home from work the other day, in Marietta, and came across a BIG, yellow pickup in traffic. I followed it about a 1/4 mile to its destination: a landscape supply company.

I took a couple of photos and the driver invited me to take more if I cared to.

This is a brand new International CXT.

A bright yellow supertruck that doubles as a dump truck... it's an International CXT truck. The driver (didn't get his name) is a salesman for Nalley International Motor Trucks in Kennesaw, GA. They let him take it out on weekends on occasion, if he needs it. In this case he took on 4 buckets of pine bark.

This model is a dumptruck and the interior is LOADED. Awesome machine if you ask me.

More About The International CXT Truck

UPDATE FROM RANDY 11/26/05:
I certainly didn't expect to ever see one of those huge International CXT Super trucks again... or at least not for quite some time. But after getting some gas at the Kroger on Thanksgiving Day, I look over and see another one of the CXT's. This one is black and someone actually owns it -- rather than the salesman taking it out for a weekend joyride. Here are a couple of pictures:

Other Articles By Randy...
Well okay, there's only one so far, but it's a GREAT one!

Check out Randy's first-hand account of what it's like to take an open-pit ride in a bi-plane... plus lots of cool aerial shots.

Thanks, Randy!!!

UPDATE 12/1/07: More CXT photos... These are from John D.

For the people that know trucks, this is the ultimate pickup. For the ones that don't know trucks, you will never understand. It's the same as a woman getting the biggest diamond. They are so big their impractical, but they look good and make you feel good. Moral is, if you can really aford the thing, buy it. I can't so I am building my own from an International bus and the 4700 series cab.

This ride is bad ass

In response to bob travers comment.. I bought one and love it and any real man should understand why !! As far as the compensating comment is that a chick comment or a guy that can't afford it, or maybe wife won't let you have one ????????

bob said:

not that great of a truck....don't let the looks fool ya...it's actually a rough ride.....the front leaf springs are too short....if it wasn't for the air ride suspension....not bad to look at though...we had a couple role through the shop getting repairs....

Bob Travers said:

I'm sorry. That vehicle is absolutely insane. I'm doing my best at the moment to not post an inflammatory comment but I'd have to say that you started it. That thing is so over the top obscene, why would you really want one? I think the average Joe is going to ask one question if they see you driving it. "What are you compensating for?" Seriously, I don't get it. Bigger really isn't better unless you actually need that much power. The only application I can think of that truely needs it, is for hauling a semi trailer filled with crap bound for Wal-Mart.

I LOVE THIS TRUCK. I HAVE LOVED IT SINCE I FIRST SAW ONE. ONE DAY SOON, I WILL OWN ONE...

THATS A WHOLE LOT OF TRUCK!!!!!!

kristi...

I get made fun of all of the time for taking photos of anything and everything I see in my daily travels yet I am oftened asked "Do you have your camera with you?" by the same people that make fun of me. Moral: Don't worry about what other people think when you whip out your camera. A camera captures moments that appeal to you and (hopefully)sometimes others, as well.

p.s. I haven't (and wouldn't) make a habit of following trucks to take pictures. It could be hazardous to your health!
