Bluebird Cafe In The Round
After a 5-month hiatus from songwriter nights (for no reason), we went to the Bluebird Cafe for an "in the round" line-up of songwriters that we could not pass up:
Bob DiPiero | Jeffrey Steele
This one was extra fun, due to the fact that we were seated in the VERY front row for a change.
Not to mention the fact that we were privileged to be in the same room with these 4 incredible songwriters!
We've posted photos for all to see starting here in our Photo Gallery.
While you'll certainly find ton of photos there... trust me, there are even more. We took over 70 photographs this time!
The only problem was we were seated DIRECTLY BEHIND Bob DiPiero, and therefore didn't get any decent shots of him at all. Much like on this night about a year ago at the Bluebird:
Aside from the back of his head, and the occasional right-arm or left-arm clad in a red shirt that you see in everyone else's photos, you'd hardly know that Bob DiPiero was at this show -- according to our photographs. Which is a shame, cuz he's a class act. Such a joy to listen to! For a sampling more than 50 songs that Bob DiPiero has written, check this out.
We were, however, privileged to get to see Bart Allmand in the audience. He was co-writer with Bob DiPiero on the song, "You Can't Take The Honky Tonk Outta The Girl" -- the hit made famous by Brooks & Dunn. Here's the full-length video.
Another rising star seated in the front row was Sarah Buxton. Sarah seems to be living her dreams right now. (And she's in good company with friends like these four!) She was invited to sing a song of her own on this night at the Bluebird... and this cutie stole the show! Watch for more from Sarah Buxton.
It's kind of an "inside story", but we thought it was funny to find her seated in the front row, too (yet receiving NO attention).
UPDATE 2/15/08:
Check out the latest antics of these 4 guys who have become well-known as 'The Hitmen of Music Row'...
Hi Jim and Lynette ....... just found your site on a Yahoo search for Jeffrey Steele.
I am a BIG JS fan ... check out my site at
www.songwriterville.com and you will find many pics of JS and other writers.
Are you a longtime JS fan? Or a writers fan? Anyway, I was glad to find your site and pics as I was unable to go to that particular show.
