40 Days And 40 Nights

Jim sitting in front of the TV where we were watching a DVD that Pastor Dave made for each group to follow along. I've always wanted to be part of a Bible Study group.

Mostly because I know NOTHING about the Bible, and would like to absorb it (directly or indirectly) through chatting with other Christian friends; and partly because it's just fun to get together with people you have something in common with.

This week at our church (Bellevue Community Church), they started something new in an attempt to facilitate getting to know fellow church members, and to simply bring people together to share our views on life, love, church, religion, and living life to the fullest.

40 Days bible study at BCC. Over the course of 40 days, 400 groups of 8-10 individuals are getting together in neighborhoods all across Nashville. We're all reading David Foster's book, "Accept No Mediocre Life", jotting down our daily thoughts and goals, and then getting together each week to watch a DVD that Pastor Dave made to go along with the book.

It's fun! It's motivating! And it's an eye-opening experience...

For me, it's simply a way to get centered again. It reminds me to step back and re-focus on the things that are really important in my life.

Our friends Mark and Erin signed up to be the "leaders" for our team of 7 (plus 1 virtual member -- our friend Mike in Mississippi).

Our BCC e-team group: Bob, Mark, David, Alex - not pictured were Jim, Lynnette and Erin. Each week, we're meeting at a different location to chat about our week together. This week was Mark and Erin's house. Next week: Dave and Alex's house.
