Puckett's Grocery is a little country store that's located in the trendy suburb of Franklin, Tennessee called Leiper's Fork (20 miles southwest of Nashville). They sell a lot more than just groceries... try lobster, deli sandwiches, and music -- lots and lots of live music!
Music Amidst The Zucchini
Not only can you scoop up a really good deal on groceries at Puckett's, but you can also catch some pretty amazing live musical performances there on Friday nights.
And we're not just talking about no-names here. We're talking some of the most talented songwriters in and around Nashville... those who penned all the hits you hear on the radio today!
Similar to the ever-popular Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, the live music nights at Puckett's feature singers and songwriters "in the round" with the musicians sitting and strumming on their guitars, sharing stories about how each song came to be and the true meaning behind the words.
Different from the ever-popular Bluebird Cafe: at Puckett's you can choose your munchies right from the store shelves that surround you! And, those who forget to call ahead for reservations don't mind standing in the bread aisle, the chips aisle, or the canned vegetables aisle to watch the entire show!
A Songwriter's Haven
Unless you've been around the songwriters arena for awhile, then don't be surprised if you don't know the musicians who are on the bill by name. The fact is, you will definitely know their songs! And you'll quickly come to realize (and appreciate) the amazing talent that lies beneath the songs you hear on the radio every day. As well as those songs that just haven't been "picked up" yet.
Living in the Music City Capitol of the world, there's certainly no shortage of places to hear good music in Nashville these days. But we're so glad that Puckett's has chosen to think outside the box by filling their aisles of their grocery store with music writers, singers, and fans alike.
If you have an appreciation for music, you won't be disappointed. To sign up for their mailing list to get advanced notice of who's playing at Puckett's each month, or to make reservations for a future show at the Leiper's Fork Puckett's the Franklin Puckett's, call (615) 791-6484 and ask for Mimi ...or fill out this form online.
Great Food Too... Imagine That!
As if that's not enough, Puckett's also serves as a quaint small-town diner, providing everything from deli sandwiches to full-course meals for the regulars, as well as passersby daily.
If you haven't been to Puckett's for their food yet, and you like seafood, then you must stop by on a Saturday evening when they feature all-you-can-eat lobster and shrimp for a low, low price!
Going to Puckett's primarily for the music on a Friday night? Then you might want to make reservations and get there early to enjoy their four-course, sit-down dinner (plus, that's how you get the best seats for the show). The food is always to die for.
And if you've got an event coming up, they're well-known for their catering services too!
Puckett's After Hours Franklin Tennessee
Perhaps the best news for us: the owner, Andy Marshall is opening another part restaurant / part grocery store / part music venue establishment in the little town of Franklin, Tennessee!
It will be located on Fourth Avenue downtown, bringing even more fun flavor to the quaint little downtown square of Franklin -- where cafe tables & chairs line the streets, catering to the trendy clientelle and oh-so-hip residents who live in the area.
Grand Opening night for the Franklin Puckett's is Saturday, December 4th, and the musical guest for the evening is The Alex Harvey Band. Lots of fun prizes and last-minute surprises are sure to follow.
Best of Both Worlds?
If we're lucky, they'll keep the Franklin After Hours shows on Saturday night, and the Leiper's Fork After Hours shows on Friday night -- allowing everyone to have the best of both worlds by filling the entire weekend with live music at Puckett's!

Daisy -
Last time I checked, Mimi Johnston was handling the booking for Puckett's music nights.
I have read that Mimi Johnston is a songwriter and the producer of Puckett's After Hours. She can be reached at mimi@mljproductions.us
Other than that, your best bet is to contact Puckett's directly via the numbers mentioned on their website.
Hello! Dave Gibson and I would like to play there with new Lofton Creek recording artist Kristina Cornell. Can you put me in touch with whomever is doing the booking? Thanks!

Wanda,
While we are not affiliated with Puckett's in any way, it is my understanding (from past experience) that you DO have to RSVP for the show -- ESPECIALLY if you are planning to take part in the dinner before the show.
While they usually allow walk-ups the night of the show, it's a VERY small place, and seating is quite limited. Those who can "fit" in the place at the last minute are simply left standing in the grocery aisles.
Have fun! We've seen Roxie Dean at the Bluebird before -- she's great.
My husband and I will be traveling there from NW Missouri for this Friday nights 7 pm show with Roxie Dean and would like to know if we have to purchase tickets for this show.
Thanks,
Wanda
Hi I just wanted to let you know how much I love your Leiper's Fork location. (although I haven't been to the Franklin one yet) Last summer we visited quite a few times and enjoyed Saturday night dinners and movies with y'all. It was EXCELLENT! The food, the atmosphere! We are expecting company the first week in July and Puckett's will be our first stop! We have little ones so the cartoons were great! Are you still doing the movies and dinner on Saturdays and live music on Fridays? If so what time does everything start? Do you have a schedule? I work with Uncle Lester's daughter and we chat about how peaceful it is out there. Please email me back. Thanks so much. Looking froward to seeing y'all again! Rosemary Casey in Thompson's Station
Thanks to Steve G. for letting us know that the Grand Opening for Puckett's Franklin location has been postponed.
Watch for future updates about Puckett's "band & songwriter nights"...
