Election 2004 Results: Provisional Ballots Not Counted For 11 Days?

Stars and stripes forever... image (c) www.hellasmultimedia.com Here it is, "the morning after" and Kerry's not willing to concede...yet! (He is projected to do so in just a matter of hours, though.)

Kerry is arguing that more than 250,000 provisional and absentee ballots remained to be counted in the key battleground state of Ohio.

That, despite the fact that Bush received more votes than any other President in U.S. history!

You can bet I'll be following the news reports the rest of this morning, but I don't think I have the energy (or the interest) to follow a multi-day drag-out battle to the finish like we did in 2000!

For up-to-the-minute updates, keep your eye on CNN's Election Results.

For a lighter perspective on this whole debacle, check out the following political humor.

What I Learned Today:
It could be worse... they could run political TV commercials during the recount!

It was clear early on (months before the election) that Bush had this state won. So there really wasn't much controversy or "overplay" here in Tennessee.

You think YOU have it bad - try living through this IN Ohio! Thankfully I didn't have to wait much at all to vote, but some places were crazy. And the media coverage was on tv NONstop. I'm just glad it's all finally over. And I think Kerry went out with class.
